The much awaited Middle East version of Creative Suite will have the all-important Arabic language support for design and publishing companies in the region, who would like to shift to this innovative software platform.
The Middle East version of Creative Suite is a complete design environment that gives today’s creative professionals everything they need to create and publish content to print and the Web faster, more easily, and more efficiently than ever. It combines enhanced Middle East versions of Adobe Photoshop CS, Adobe Illustrator CS and Adobe InDesign CS. The platform also incorporates Adobe GoLive CS, Acrobat 6.0 Professional, and the innovative Version Cue file version manager.
Adobe Photoshop CS – Middle East Version
Adobe Photoshop CS Middle East version is an enhanced version of Adobe Photoshop CS, with improved support for Arabic. The programme supports most fonts shipped with the user’s Operating System, as well as a large number of third party fonts widely used by graphic designers in the Middle Eastern regions, including the Arabic XT font. The Middle East version also comes with special settings for laying out Arabic text, including setting the paragraph and character direction; a ligature option; setting vowels and positioning diacritics; possibility to use Arabic, Farsi or Hindi digits; and the use of kashidas for letter spacing and full justification. The software also has the Text on path feature supporting Arabic. Adobe Photoshop CSME also allows for a spell-check of the text in Arabic. For the content to web requirements, the programme has special encodings to allow it to work with Arabic language.
Adobe Illustrator CS – Middle East Version
The Middle East version of Adobe Illustrator CS is an essential tool for anyone who needs to express ideas visually in print, on the Web, and in any other medium. With powerful new 3D features, advanced typographical controls, smooth Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) integration, enhanced printing options, and faster performance, this indispensable design tool helps designers explore their creative vision and efficiently publish their artwork anywhere.

In the Middle East version of Illustrator CS, the notion of right-to-left behaviour applies to several objects: Story, Paragraph, Character and Table. It is easy to mix Right-to-Left and Left-to-Right Words, Paragraphs and Stories in a document. It is also possible to justify text in three possible ways (Standard, Arabic and Naskh) for a variety of layouts.
The Middle East version of Adobe Illustrator CS comes with a comprehensive dictionary for Arabic allowing the user to spell check Arabic text with a choice of rules, like Strict AleefHamza, Strict Final Yaa, both or none.
The programme includes improved import and export options for RTF, Unicode, Word, Freehand, CorelDraw, PDF, SVG, PSD, EPS, EMF and DXF/DWG files including Middle Eastern text.
Adobe InDesign CS – Middle East Version
The Middle East version of Adobe InDesign CS software, takes page design to a new level, combining extraordinary production power and creative freedom with innovative cross-media support. Through its tight integration with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat software, the Middle East version of InDesign CS helps designers produce pages quickly and output them reliably.
The Middle East version of InDesign CS incorporates a Table of Contents title, which is sorted according to the requirements of Arabic. This tool simplifies and speeds-up the designer’s task of creating a table of contents for any document or book. The Middle East version of InDesign CS also allows designers to set various Sort Options for indexes in Arabic.
The Middle East version of InDesign CS brings with it the capability of opening directly and converting PageMaker ME files as well as QuarkXPress files, using Arabic XT or Arabic Phonyx fonts, retaining the layout and content. InDesign comes with more than 50 import/export filters enabling designers to place many kinds of images and Roman texts, within their document. InDesign includes a reverse layout feature to revert the layout of a document, when converting a Left-to-Right document (Roman) to a Right-to-Left one (Arabic) or vice versa. It is also helpful when creating a multilingual document.
Besides the default fonts (WinSoftPro, WinSoftSerifPro, MinionPro and MyriadPro), installed to facilitate work in Arabic, a host of extra fonts are also bundled with the Middle East version of InDesign CS.
