  • Re: Bulletproof samurai It must be a bug. It does not make sense that any little Vassal-clan can create a unit that are supposed to be both clan-specific and demands certain buildings.

  • Suggested European introduced plate armour, but 'samurais' are already obsolete by this time. Supposed to coincide with the popularization of the matchlock. Maybe that's the bulletproof samurai of Shogun 2, but it doesn't look the same in-game. I don't know the original source for this picture.

4) Heavy Gunner – Shimazu clanFor some targets a simple musket is disrespectful. Better by far to use a heavy gun.

  • Very large muskets can damage units and buildings

5) Wako Raider – Mori clanPiracy prepares men to fight unfairly and with deceit. A wise commander uses these skills.

  • Can deploy outside of their own deployment area
  • Can walk whilst hidden and can hide almost anywhere

  • Weak melee defence and armour
  • Vulnerable to cavalry and missiles
  • Just the right amount of awesome

6) Mounted Gunner – Tokugawa clanThese mounted samurai carry matchlocks, allowing them to fire a deadly volley and then gallop away.
